The energy commodities trader and convenience store network VIRŠI-A AS (Virši) significantly expands the payment options for electric car charging, providing the possibility to pay at the cash desk in various forms of payment — by payment card, cash or company fuel card. By significantly expanding the offer of payment solutions, Virši will not only provide greater flexibility and additional convenience to its customers, but also become the first service provider with a widely available charging network across Latvia, which complies with the new European Union (EU) and State Revenue Service (SRS) payment accounting requirements.
In accordance with the EU AFIR (Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation) and the SRS requirements for payment accounting, customers at electric car charging stations must be able to make payment in different payment methods so that electric car charging is as easy as refuelling. Until now, these options were limited, as payments were mostly only possible with mobile apps or using an RFID card.
“We had the idea of expanding and diversifying the payment options for electric car owners for a long time, as we often heard such a desire from our customers as well. Today it is with great satisfaction that we can announce that this desire has been implemented — from now on, everyone will be able to pay for charging electric cars in the Virši network just as easily at the cash desk as for the purchase of any other fuel. This will significantly facilitate access to electric charging services and make it even more user-friendly for different user groups. Our goal is not only to provide high-quality services, but also to create a supportive environment for all electric car users who choose this sustainable transport solution,” says Anrijs Tukulis, Head of Sustainability Projects at Virši.
Anrijs Tukulis also stresses that the timely implementation of the requirements set by the EU and the SRS will strengthen the company’s position in the field of sustainable mobility. In the future, the company will keep improving its services to meet modern standards and promote the use of sustainable energy.
